Rosa L. Lucero

Rosa L. Lucero, 84 a resident of Clovis, NM passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at University Medical Center in Lubbock following an illness. She was born March 26, 1934 in Fort Sumner, NM the daughter of Aurelio and Reyes (Baca) Lopez. She attended Fort Sumner Schools. She was a longtime member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Clovis and a member of American Legion Post #25. Rosa was self employed as a house keeper for many years.Rosa is preceded in death by her husband Frank Lucero Sr., her parents, a sister Vera Martinez, a half brother Aurelio Blea, 3 sons Johnny Lucero, Pablo Lucero, Bobby Lucero, a daughter Frances Lucero, and a grandson Johnny Joe Lucero Jr.She is survived by a son Frank Lucero Jr.,  and four daughters Mary Jane Finnell, Nancy Lopez, Josie Lucero, and Alice Zambrano all of Clovis, also surviving is a brother Dario (Ellen) Lopez of Fort Sumner, a sister Emma (Daniel) Sena of Clovis two half sisters Rosie (Tommy) Salazar and Cathy (Tito) Vigil all of Fort Sumner and a special aunt, Erlinda Lopez of Fort Sumner along with 15 grandchildren Leonard Zamora, Sabrina Gonzales, Frankie Lucero III, Cheryl Lucero, Lisa Lucero, Phillip Lucero, Joseph Lopez, Adrian Chavez, Crystal Zambrano, Inez Chaparro, Irene Montano, Chris Salinas, Jolene Lucero, Tanya Finnell, and Brandon Finnell, 34 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.Visitation hours will be Friday from 10am to 6pm at the funeral home. Viewing will also take place at the church for one hour prior to the rosary and funeral Mass.A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm Friday, October 5, 2018 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Fort Sumner, Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated from the church at 10:00 am Saturday, October 6, 2018 with burial to follow at St. Anthony Cemetery. Father Sotero Sena will officiate. Pallbearers are Adrian Chavez, Jacob Martinez, Leonard Zamora, Danny Chavez, Aurelio Lopez, and Joe Chaparro.All arrangements are under the direction of Chavez Funeral Home, 830 N.
