Rosabella Encarnacion "Chona" Page, 93, of Santa Rosa, New Mexico, passed awaypeacefully of natural causes on February 4, 2026. Born on October 4, 1932, in Santa Rosato Severo Chavez and Maria Genoveva Romero, she lived a life defined by quiet devotion, generosity of spirit, and an enduring love for her family and community.
Rosabella attended school in Santa Rosa until her high school years, when she marriedCecilio G. Page Jr. Together they built a life rooted in love and commitment, raising fivechildren whom she cared for with unwavering tenderness. Known to many as "Chona," she was a devoted mother whose warmth and compassion extended far beyond her ownhousehold. She was very well liked and deeply respected throughout the community,always willing to go out of her way to help anyone in need.
Rosabella possessed a remarkable green thumb and took great joy in growing and caring for a variety of plants and flowers. She loved nature and cherished her walks whenever she was able. Her mind was ever curious and active; she delighted in crossword puzzles, reading, and learning about new and different things. Anything that stimulated her intellect brought her pleasure, and her love of discovery never dimmed with age.
She is survived by her sons, Joseph Robert Page, Joseph Patrick Page and CharlesMichael Page; her daughters, Cecilia Ann Page and Anita Francis Polit and husbandRobert; and her sister, Dulcinea "Nea." Gabaldon. She was preceded in death by herbeloved husband, Cecilio G. Page Jr.; her parents, Severo Chavez and Maria Genoveva Romero-Chavez; her sisters, Eliza, Aniceta "Tita," Piedad, and Maria Acencion; and her brothers, Bonifacio "Boni," Berto, Jose Ignacio, Lorenzo, Gilberto "Gil," Meliton "Tony," and Severo "Junior."
A memorial service and interment of cremains will take place on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at 11:30am at St. Joseph Cemetery in Santa Rosa, New Mexico. Urn bearers will be her children, Anita and Charles.
May she now rest in the peace she so faithfully offered to others. In the words held close by her family: "I never lived a lie, never took a life, but surely saved one. Hallelujah, it's time for you to bring me home."
