Rose Ann Lopez

Rose Ann Lopez, 69 of Tucumcari, NM passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Thursday, November 19, 2020. Rose Ann was born on June 10, 1951 in Tucumcari to the home of Joe Trinidad Sanchez and Mary (Sandoval) Sanchez. Rose Ann was raised in Tucumcari where she attended school. She married Estevan Lopez in El Paso, Texas. Rose Ann was a CNA with Van Ark Care Center in Tucumcari, where she later retired from. She was a parishioner at St. Anne’s Catholic Church and was an avid supporter of St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Rose Ann also enjoyed crafts and making crosses. However, her greatest joy came from the time she spent with her family. Rose Ann is preceded in death by her parents, sister; Mary Lou Trujillo and brother-in-law; Nasario Trujillo and her great-grandparents; Juan and Caroline Sandoval. Rose Ann is survived by her sons; Daniel Joe Lucero (Lynette) of Tavares, Florida, Arthur Valentino Lucero of Tucumcari, James Matthew Lucero of Raton, NM and her daughter; Dawn Renee Mergler (Robert Gallegos) of Tucumcari. She is also survived by her brothers; Ernie Sanchez (Trinni) of Clovis, NM, Henry Sanchez (Nicky) of Oklahoma, Johnny Sanchez of Tucumcari, Anthony Baca (Helen) of San Antonio, Texas and sister; Joanne Cortez (Esteban) of El Paso, Texas. Rose Ann is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, and one on the way. Rose Ann will be laid to rest at Tucumcari Memorial Park with Steven Carmona, Carlos Lucero, Henry Sanchez, Johnny Sanchez, Anthony Baca and Marcos Martinez serving as Pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be all of Rose Ann’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A graveside service was held at 1:30 pm Tuesday, November 23, 2020 at Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery. Due to COVID-19 Pandemic Social Distancing guidelines, services will be private and limited to the immediate family. We ask that you keep Rose Ann and her family in your prayers.
