Susan Margaret Bailon, 69 of Fort Sumner passed away on October 6, 2019 in Virginia Beach, VA following an illness. She was born in Santa Rosa, NM to the home of Eddie and Nora (Gutierrez) Anaya. Susie as she was affectionately known to her family and friends grew up in Fort Sumner where she attended school. She married Greg Bailon on April 2, 1983 in Fort Sumner. They raised their family in Fort Sumner. Susie was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, enjoyed playing Bingo, crocheting, and loved to listen to her music. She enjoyed sitting outside in her patio and gardening. Susie made her home in Virginia Beach, VA in 2018 to be near her daughter, her care giver for the past year. She enjoyed going for rides and loved the time she spent at the beach. Her favorite season was summer where she enjoyed relaxing at the lake and beach. Susie is preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband Greg Bailon of Clovis, her daughter Crystal Landers (Ben) of Virginia Beach, VA, her son Eric Bailon of Clovis, six granddaughters, Leah Bailon, Dreah Bailon, Kaydence Bailon of Clovis, and Alazia Landers, Zariah Landers, and Arianna Landers of Virginia Beach, VA. Also surviving five siblings, three sisters Esther Dunn (James) of Fort Sumner, Lorene Delgadillo of Fort Sumner, Geraldine Griego of Fort Sumner, two brothers Eddie "Sonny" Anaya (Tina) of Clovis, and Andy Anaya (Irene) of Fort Sumner along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Recitation of the Holy Rosary and funeral Mass will be held at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Fort Sumner beginning at 12:00 noon, Saturday, November 02, 2019 with Father Sotero A. Sena officiating. Burial of cremains will follow at St. Anthony Cemetery. Honorary bearers will be her granddaughters. Arrangements are under the direction of Chavez Funeral Home, 830 N.
