Terry Velasquez, beloved daughter, sister, friend, and a guiding light to many, passed away on December 28, 2025, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was born September 9, 1942, in Las Vegas, New Mexico, where her spirit began to flourish in the embrace of the beautiful landscapes that surrounded her.
Terry was a former resident of Anton Chico, where she deeply rooted her life in the community and its traditions. She was a lifelong Catholic, a testament to her unwavering faith and commitment as a devoted parishioner of San Jose Catholic Church in Anton Chico. Her faith was more than just a part of her life; it was the foundation upon which she built her values, cultivated her compassion, and extended her love to everyone who crossed her path.
Throughout her life, Terry shared an undeniable warmth and kindness that touched the hearts of family and friends alike. Her gentle spirit, paired with an infectious smile, brought joy to those around her. She had an extraordinary ability to lift others' spirits through her words of encouragement and her ever-present willingness to lend a helping hand. Whether it was through her volunteer work at the church or simple everyday acts of kindness, Terry's legacy of love and service will forever resonate in the memories of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
Terry's journey in life has left an indelible mark on the world, and while her physical presence may be gone, the love she shared continues to shine brightly. As we mourn the loss of this remarkable woman, we also celebrate the life she lived—a life filled with grace, faith, and boundless love.
Recitation of The Most Holy Rosary, immediately followed by the Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, January 17, 2026 beginning at 10AM at San Jose Catholic Church in Anton Chico, NM, with Reverend Timothy Meurer celebrating the service.
Interment of cremains will follow at San Jose Cemetery in Anton Chico.
