Tina L. Aragon, 87 of Anton Chico, NM, passed away peacefully, with her loving family at her side on Wednesday, September 2, 2026.

Tina was born July 7, 1939 to Pedro and Luisa (Gonzales) Lucero in Ojitos Frios, NM. She was raised in Anton Chico, where she also attended school and later graduated from Santa Rosa High School in 1956. Following graduation, Tina married Alfonso Aragon and the two made their home in Anton Chico for fifty plus years.

Tina’s career was varied, with her working in Santa Fe at the State Capitol—The Round House, then at St. Vincent’s Hospital and for Anton Chico Elementary School as a Teacher’s Aide. Tina pursued her education, earning her bachelor’s degree as an Elementary Teacher. She retired as a classroom teacher in 2005.

A life-long parishioner at San Jose Catholic Church, Tina was a Catechism teacher for many years. She was active in her community as a commodities distributor and as manager for the Anton Chico Community Center—the Guadalupe County Commission would later bestow a public service award to Tina for her tireless efforts. In her spare time, Tina enjoyed the casinos and the time she spent with her family.

Tina is preceded in death by her parents, her husband; Alfonso and a daughter; Lori Villanueva.

Tina is survived by her children, Christina Quintana of Albuquerque and Lee (Michell) Aragon of Las Vegas, NM and son-in-law; Tano Villanueva. She is also survived by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; Angela (Paul) Villanueva, Eric (Jessica) Villanueva, Joseph (Naomi) Villanueva, Ellyanna, Emma, Matthew, Adrianna, Bella, Rachelle, Gabrielle, Jonel and Amorelle, Adam Quintana, Victoria (Raheem) Quintana, Samaiya, Nathaniel, Asia (Sean Ray) and Neria, and Candice (Lawrence), Ashley (Donnie) and Serenity, Trinity and Donnie Ray, III, as well as many family and friends.

Viewing will be Monday, September 7, 2026 from 9-10 AM at San Jose Catholic Church in Anton Chico.

Recitation of The Most Holy Rosary followed by the Mass of Christian Burial, will begin at 10AM on Monday, September 7, 2026 at San Jose Catholic Church.

Interment will follow at San Jose Cemetery with Adam Quintana, Eric Villanueva, Joseph Villanueva, Angela Barela, Candice Aragon, Ashley Aragon and Victoria Quintana serving as Pallbearers.
