Toni Zamora Brasher

Toni Zamora Brasher, age 91 passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 1, 2025. She was born June 13, 1934 in Santa Rosa, New Mexico. She attended New Mexico Highlands University in Las Vegas, New Mexico. She married her high school sweetheart, Tony Brasher on November 29,1958. He preceded her in death in June 1998. They lived in Panhandle, TX and owned their local restaurant business, "Fat Tony's Steak House”. Toni began her administrative career working as a secretary in the New Mexico Governor's Office at the State Capitol in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She also worked as an administrative secretary for the Department of Energy at the Pantex Plant in Amarillo for 32 years and an additional nine years with Mason & Hanger at the Pantex Plant, retiring in January 2000 for a total of 44 years in the business world.

She was preceded in death by her parents Jose and Guadalupe Zamora, two brothers, Eloy J. Zamora in 1993, Martin Zamora in 1956, a sister Flora Zamora Pinales in 2021, and her sister-in-law Esme Zamora in 2022.

A loving mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend, Toni will be missed by her family, son Jamie L. Brasher and his wife Traci of Ponder, Texas, and two grandsons Christian James of Austin, Texas and Peyton James and wife Lily of Sanger, Texas and two great-granddaughters, Ellie and Isla, whom she so deeply loved and were the true highlights of her life; one sister Fabiola Fritz of Panhandle, Sister in law Priscilla Garcia, husband Orlando of Santa Rosa, NM and many nephews and nieces. She adored and spoiled young children and was known to many as “Nana”. She was a firm believer in her Catholic religion and strongly expressed her faith and trust in God. Toni always saw only the good sides of people.

She was an active member of St. Theresa's Catholic Church of Panhandle,Tx; belonged to the Christian Mothers Association; did volunteer work for the Childrens’ Home in Panhandle, as well as clerical work. Did volunteer work for BSA Hospital in Amarillo; belonged to the ASCA; and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Dancing, swimming and of course, the Dallas Cowboys football games were her favorite past times. However, most important were visits from her immediate family.

A rosary will be recited at 6:00pm (CST) Sunday, November 9, 2025 and funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am (CST) Monday, November 10, 2025 at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 110 Little Flower Way, Panhandle, Texas. Interment will follow at 3:00pm (MST) in the family plot, St. Joseph Cemetery, Santa Rosa, New Mexico.

Family requests that all memorials go to St Theresa’s Catholic Church, Panhandle, Texas 79068, or any charitable organization of choice.
