Vivian Urban

Mary Vivian Urban, 87 of Santa Rosa, NM passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Monday, January 22, 2024.

Vivian was born on May 14, 1936 in Sombrillo, NM to Guillermo Selgado and Josefita (Baca) Selgado.   Vivian was raised in Sombrillo and attended school in Santa Rosa.  Vivian married Billy Urban on July 9, 1954 at Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Santa Rosa.

Vivian was a devout parishioner at Saint Rose of Lima.  She enjoyed going to the casino and watching game shows on TV.  However, Vivian’s greatest joy came from the time she spent with her family—especially her grandchildren.

Vivian is preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Billy, her granddaughter: Denise Urban and her siblings: Willy Selgado, Celso Selgado, Delfinia Selgado and Gomecinda Chavez.

Vivian is survived by her children: Patrick (Cristina) Urban of Las Cruces, NM, Andy (Diana) Urban of Santa Rosa, NM, Yolanda (Jose) Flores of Puerto De Luna, NM and Debbie Ulibarri of Santa Rosa, NM and her brother: Benjamin Selgado.  Vivian is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 25, 2024, from 1-6PM at Chavez Funeral Home in Santa Rosa and again on Friday, January 26, 2024 from 9-10AM at Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Santa Rosa.

Recitation of The Most Holy Rosary will be Friday, January 26, 2024 at 10AM at Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Santa Rosa.  The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11AM at Saint Rose of Lima, with Father Sotero Sena as celebrant.

Interment will follow at Saint Joseph Cemetery in Santa Rosa, with Kaitlyn Ulibarri, Hailey Ulibarri, Erika Ulibarri, Nathan Flores, Javier Urban, Andres Urban, Joey Urban, Jimmy Urban, Benji Selgado and Dennis Gallegos serving as Pallbearers.
