William C Schade

William C. Schade, 89 passed away Friday evening, April 3, 2020 at Retirement Ranch in Clovis, New Mexico. He was born September 15, 1930 in Aurora, Illinois to the home of William C. and Gladys (Yates) Schade. He grew up in Montgomery, Illinois and graduated from West Aurora High School in Aurora, Illinois. Following graduation, he attended Aurora College where he received a Bachelor of Science in Physics. William served in Korea in the U.S. Army. He married Janice Barbara Armstrong on March 20, 1954 in Wheaton, Illinois. William was employed for over 35 years as a District Manager for Illinois Bell Telephone. He retired in 1985. William and Janice made their home North of Lake Sumner on Lake Sumner Ranch. They were members of First Baptist Church in Fort Sumner. William enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is preceded in death by his father William Charles Schade Sr. in 1984 and his mother Gladys Irma Schade in 1984, and a daughter Susan Jill Schade in 1959. Survivors include his wife Janice Schade of the home north of Fort Sumner, two daughters Cathy Stoddard and husband Dan of Paulden, AZ, Betsy Foster and husband Mark of Branson, MO, a son William Schade and wife Nancy of the ranch north of Fort Sumner, six granddaughters Lauren Schade of San Diego, CA, Lainy Martinez and husband Chris of Socorro, NM, Katie Vaporis and husband Zach of Casper, WY, Alexandra Stoddard of Flagstaff, AZ, Remington Stoddard of Flagstaff, AZ, Hannah Foster of Branson, MO, one grandson Joel Foster of Branson, MO, two great grandsons Warren Martinez of Socorro, NM and William Vaporis of Casper, WY. Due to the statewide restrictions pertaining to the COVID-19 Virus, services were limited to the immediate family. Graveside services were held at 3:00 pm, Sunday, April 5, 2020 at Fort Sumner Cemetery with Dr. Joe Bunce officiating. We ask that you keep William's family in your prayers.
