Zenaida Bridges

Zenaida “Cindi” Sisneros Bridges, age 79, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, November 1, 2019 at her home in Colonias, NM. Zenaida was born to Severiano U. Sisneros and Altagracia (Romero) Sisneros on June 1, 1940 in Colonias, NM. Throughout the 1970’s, Zenaida was a stay at home mom who utilized her numerous talents to create a loving home for her family.  In the 1980’s she owned and operated The Tiny Texan Day Care Center in Amarillo, Texas.  Having earned a teaching certificate at Amarillo College she closed her business and went on to teach Kindergarten at St. Laurence Parochial School.  After several years of teaching she moved back to her family home in Santa Rosa where she worked for a short period with disadvantaged women before taking a position teaching ESL with the Guadalupe County Correctional Facility in 1998.  Zenaida later became the Classifications Officer and Case Manager at GCCF, and eventually was sought for the position of Prison Chaplain.  She held that position for many years before retiring on January 31, 2019. Zenaida is preceded in death by her parents, a brother; J. Anthony Sisneros, a Great-granddaughter; Rebecka Mae Smith, Gran’fe Rivera and Alan G. Bridges. Zenaida is survived by her children; Suzanne (Albert) Khashan, Renee Rivera, Gran’fe Dean Rivera and Patrick Rivera, 10 Grandchildren, 15 Great-grandchildren, 3 Great-Great-grandchildren and 1 Great-Great-Grand Bun-in-the-oven, her siblings; Joe M. Sisneros, Vera (Felipe) Sanchez, Severiano (Fedelia) Sisneros, Hope Sisneros and Tomas (Margie) Sisneros, as well as a host of loving nieces, nephews, family and friends. Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary will be Thursday, November 7, 2019 at 6:00 P.M. at Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Santa Rosa.  Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, November 8, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. at Saint Rose with Father Christopher Bernabe as celebrant.  Interment of cremains will follow at San Jose Cemetery in Colonias, NM.
